

The Brer Bear and Brer Fox animatronic towards the beginning hasn’t been working for a while and neither has the alligator biting Brer Fox’s tail at the end either. Hopefully, they take the time to fix some of the broken animatronic figures in the ride that haven’t been working for a while. Disney is keeping Splash Mountain open for a while longer and they want everything looking fresh for the 50th Anniversary, and this is a start.

There could be some aesthetic changes to the outside of the building like fresh paint, however, plus the regular maintenance that all the rides must go through.Įxpect to see scaffolding up on the outside of Splash Mountain, including the drop area when the work gets started. It’s probable that there won’t be any structural changes to the ride or scenes. This refurb is only maintenance and not to re-theme the ride. After boarding the 8 person log you will be treated to twists and turns which follow the story of Br’er Rabbit. Splash Mountain is a water log plume ride based on Disney’s 1946 Song of the South. Just listen for the screams and whoosh of water. This Magic Kingdom ride is located in Frontierland, next to the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
